## How New Zealanders search for a local service

In the big cities the suburb is the unit: "plumber Ponsonby", "physio Riccarton", "electrician Lower Hutt". Elsewhere it is the town or the region: "builder Tauranga", "tour Queenstown", "septic tank Waikato". A business covering a whole region needs a page for the towns people actually type, not just the region name.

We use New Zealand terms and spelling on your pages and organise them around how you really cover the country: by suburb in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and by town and region elsewhere.

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars as your price list states them, including GST where your prices include it, and update within a day when you change your Google Sheet. Our own plans are priced in New Zealand dollars for New Zealand clients.

## The rules New Zealand pages follow

The Advertising Standards Authority's Advertising Standards Code applies to advertising in all media, including the advertiser's own channels such as its website. Our pages state facts from your data and cite their sources, and in health and other regulated fields a named professional from your business approves them before they publish.

Enquiries are personal information under the Privacy Act 2020, which came into force on 1 December 2020 and is overseen by the Privacy Commissioner. We keep them minimal: stored encrypted, delivered within minutes and deleted from our system after 90 days.

## Working with a Nairobi team from New Zealand

New Zealand is nine or ten hours ahead of Nairobi, so you finish work about when we start. Change a price or approve a review link before you leave, and the pages are updated by the next morning. Your IT adds one DNS record, and the report arrives on the 3rd of each month. We have no New Zealand office.

### Can you cover both islands?

Yes. Pages follow wherever you actually serve, by suburb in the cities and by town and region elsewhere, up to 1,000 pages.

### Do the pages follow the ASA's codes?

They are written to them: factual, sourced and without claims you can't support. In health and other regulated fields, a named professional approves the content first.

### Does the time difference cause delays?

It tends to help. You send changes at the end of your day and they are live when you start the next.

### Will these pages compete with our Australian site?

Not if each is built for its own market. New Zealand pages show NZD prices, New Zealand places and the rules that apply there, so they answer different searches from your Australian pages.

### Do we need to change our website?

No. Pages live on a subdomain such as guides.yourdomain.co.nz, added with one DNS record.
