Why programmatic SEO needs a quality gate

Notes being written during a review

Generating a thousand pages is trivial. Generating a thousand pages that a search engine should rank, and that a regulator would not object to, is the whole craft. So every page passes a gate before it publishes.

Blocking rules

  • The data has been verified by a person. Unverified data never publishes.
  • The page carries real data (a stated fact, a figure, a table), not words alone.
  • It cites its sources.
  • It is not a duplicate of another page's substance.
  • It does not collide with a page the client already has.
  • In regulated industries, a named, credentialed reviewer has approved it, recently.
  • It contains no phrase the industry forbids, such as “guaranteed”, “cure” or “risk-free”.

Soft rules

A long title, a missing summary, no call to action, no questions section: each costs points, and a page below the industry's bar is held back too.

Why be this strict

Because the penalty for scaled, thin content lands on the client's domain, not ours. A gate that says no is the difference between a programme that compounds for years and one that gets a site demoted in a month.
